Washing machine stolen at Queen’s Hospital
Malawi Police are investigating the theft of a washing machine from Queens Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyte.
The machine was taken out of the hospital on a pretext that it was going for repairs but no official knew the development.
Principal hospital administrator at Queen’s, Chikumbutso Tambala said police are investigating the matter.
Ministry of health spokesman Adrian Chikumbe said there is security lapse at Queens hospital, saying the ministry has asked the hospital to demand compensation from the security company which they hired.
Chikumbe said Queens hospital “shuld take up responsibilityof tightening the security in their premises.”
