Ngalande in South Africa for talks with Maritzburg PSL club
Chances are high for on and off Flames striker Robin Ngalande to make a return to South Africa’s Absa Premier Soccer League this season.
This follows reports that the player’s services are badly wanted by Maritzburg United.
He left the country on Tuesday afternoon for South Africa where he is expected to hold talks with Maritzburg FC officials.
Ngalande who returned to Malawi towards the end of last soccer season signed a one year contract with Malawi’s elite league debutants Master Security Services where he was handed captaincy.
He has been impressive in the league and he is currently among the current golden boot contenders with four goals one behind the leading scorer Luke Chima who has notched in five.
Without giving out more details, Master Security Services General Secretary Zacharia Nyirenda confirmed on Wednesday that their skipper has indeed flown out to South Africa.
“What I can say is that Robin Ngalande is in South Africa and at the mean time, I cannot tell yo whether he will undergo trials or be given an outright contract” said Nyirenda.
“But the player has a running one year contract he signed with Master Security effective April 2017,” added Nyirenda.
Ngalande who once played for Athletico Madrid Reserve side in Spain before moving to South Africa had his performance going down by among other things lacking game time and delay to issue him work permit when switching clubs.
In South Africa, he played for Bidvest Wits, Ajax and Platinum Stars.
good luck to him
