Malawi immigration goes e-payment on visas

Tourists wishing to visit Malawi will no longer have the hustles of going to Malawi foreign missions to apply for travel visas as they can now apply and pay within the comfort of their homes or offices.

Chauwa: E-services

Immigration department spokesperson Joseph Chauwa said all is now set for the e-payment of visas and other services, the first of its kind for Malawi.

“What is remaining now is to connect network and this will be done as soon as a minister of Home Affairs is appointed and is in office,” said Chauwa.

  1. Visa on arrival up to 60 days for low risk countries and a secured hotel and jail on the airport for travellers who do don’t meet the requirements respectively thus forex right there

  2. Why can’t you scrap the Visa thing off , we will earn more Forex by allowing these vistors a free entry in Malawi than fighting to earn $75.00 per person by scaring many foreigners entry in this corrup country.

  3. So, the opening sentence is not correct, since later we are told that the new Home affairs minister must somehow bless it before it becomes operational. Since nothing moves fast in Malawi, I expect that it will be Christmas – next year – before it comes online.
