CSOs fails to bring evidence on Mulli’s K17bn allegations
Four months since Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) under the banner of Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) claimed Mulli Brothers Limited (MBL) Leston Mulli had fraudently received K17 billion loan from government payable in 83 years, the grouping is failing to give evidence.
Mulli said the allegation was unfounded and did not rule out dragging HRDC to court over the issue.
But HRDC vice chairperson Gift Trapence said their official did not mention Mulli when he talked about the government giving out the K17 billion loan to be repaid in 83 years.
“He just said a businessman. We have many businessmen in Malawi, why is Mulli jittery? Let him proceed to the court, we will meet him there,” said Trapence.
One of the members of HRDC, Luke Tembo recently promised to unmask the said businessman but up to now nothing has come out clearly.
Mulli held a news briefing on 4th October 2019 asking HRDC to produce evidence.
During annual prayers conducted at MBL Holdings headquarters in Blantyre, Catholic clergy Monsignor Boniface Tamani decried of jealousy among Malawians.
He was puzzled on the reason Malawians want to bring each other down rather than support each other.
Speaking at the same prayers, Mulli called upon all Malawians to develop a hardworking spirit and avoid looking down upon each other.
Economic commentators have been arguing that some stories that are merely cooked out malice against targeted individuals have detrimental repercussions on the international business platform.
I see nothing wrong here. This was prearanged that for security reasons he should stand behind the soldiers. After all we all know how HRDC behaves in the presence of the police
HRDC. Kukhala kwa bwanji uku? This is childish. Nanga a boma akati akutengereni ku khoti mukanena kuti you did not mention which Government? Behave responsibly….
Either you misread the said story or are deliberately fabricating ‘nkhani’ because the story never mentioned Leston Mulli but ‘a business tycoon’ and Leston Mulli is not the only ‘business tycoon’ in the country!
Too much jealousy is Malawi. So a Trapence muli busy challenging to meet Mulli in court and yet you’re failing to name n shame the said business why???
Anthu akamati inayi ndi nsanje akulakwitsa?
Munthu ngati anaba osangomutchula bwanji?
Vuto lathu ndi limeneli a Malawi munthu akamachitabwino zokamba thooo!!!
