Covid-19 on the rise in Malawi: Govt to decide on vaccine

Malawi, which has been registering almost zero new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) in the past months  has seen a sharp rise of the virus pandemic in the past few weeks.

Minister Chiponda: Covid-19 cases rising

This has worried the presidential taskforce on Covid-19 and blames it on imported cases.

In the past 10 days, the country has registered a total of 116 cases.

This is contrary to recent statistics where the country was registering less than 5 cases per day.

Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo  Chiponda Co-Chairperson of the taskforce said it is worrying that the country has started registering an increase in the number of cases.

According to Kandodo-Chiponda the rise in the number of cases is as a result of the pandemic’s resurgence in neighbouring countries which Malawi share borders with.

She has since appealed to the general public not to relax in adhering to Covid-19 preventive guidelines.

Meanwhile Kandodo-Chiponda  has told members of the press that government is yet to  make a decision on whether to administer Covid-19 vaccine or not on its citizens.

Currently, some countries are trying different Covid-19 vaccines on its people.

And according to Chiponda issues of Vaccine are very sensitive as such at an appropriate time government will come up with its official stand on the matter after making thorough consultations.

Yes, the pres. has to decide whether Malawi will participate in mass killing of its own people or not. If they say no, then we will be heavily sanctioned by the perpetrators (Mzungu) to bring us to our knees and make us beg for the vax kkkkk. This is when they will know that Malawians are resilient people. We will get innovative and build our country exponentially without them and when they return from their world vax spree, Malawi will be something else, far beyond the first world.

Shaite I love this dream.

Why don’t we stop blaming the Mzungu and the colonization already for everything and anything that is wrong with Africa, and start taking responsibility for ourselves? We have been an independent country for decades, about time we show the world what we are really made off. Time to prosper by ourselves, without relying on money handouts from the Mzungus we so much despise, and make us proud. Our destiny is on us, and unless we take control, we will never be really free.

You guys you allow returnees from South Africa to enter the country without quarantine and then you say you are worried. Whom are you trying to fool? You are doing this deliberately so that you get financial support from donors kuti mugawane bwino. Malawi sazatheka.

The Vaccine on the Market today is not even meant as a remedy to Covid 19. It is totally parallel to the expectations of the people. Only those manufacturers of these Vaccines know their purposes on human beings. Musamachite kuchalira ngati ndi ya Covid 19 as u assume it to be.

Whether you want it or not, you will vaccinate your people. It’s not a matter of choice. It’s a matter of time. It happens to curb sickness and possibly deaths. The problem is funds for the program. Vutoli silaling’ono. We were only spared from the blunt of it when everybody else was at the peak. Watch the numbers and act accordingly. Some will not accept it because it has been demonized on social media. That’s their freedom. Others will go for it. That’s also their right. Let’s wait and see.

There is currently no vaccine in Africa. The vaccine is not being tried on Africans. It is currently the developed countries with a financial muscle that have initiated its administration. The countries include Britain, Canada and the USA. Stop spreading un necessary conspiracies if you have no information.

Much as there are so many negatives with the vaccine koma nkhani yake siyimene mukukamba inuyitu. Hahaha inuyo nde mwasocheretsedwa heavy. Mantha a anthu ambiri ali pa mRNA which some fear alters DNA which is not factual. But hey …taking the vaccine as long as it’s not mandatory should be an individual’s choice. Simply that.

Can’t agree more. I wouldn’t mind anything to go for it. Every vaccine brings it’s own risks. Was the case with ARVs when they got introduced. Many died with it.

If there will be the choice to take it or not. Then it is a good vaccine. But if they will force everyone to take it, then its bad vaccine.

Zanga phee is right, wake up Jacob you have been sleeping for a looooong time. Most of you people commenting here, have never researched and are regurgitating what CNN, BBC, Aljazeera et al tell you sheep to follow. And you have shown that you do not follow through issues and that is what is scary, seriously. It is true that those who got the vax in Aussie tested what they termed ‘false HIV Positive’ and they had to stop administering the vax. You can search it up. Since when did a positive test become false. And those who know the… Read more »
