Bullets rope in Mabvuto Lungu as coach
Bullets search for coach might be over with the appointment of the club’s veteran Mabvuto Lungu to take temporary charge of the team.
Lungu, who has coached the club on two occasions in the past on interim, could be back for good with the club struggling financially to attract other better coaches.
The tactician got down to business with the club during the weekend games at Kamuzu Stadium with mixed fortunes having beaten Blantyre United 2-1 on Saturday before losing 1-0 to the lower Premier Division side Cobbe Barracks who have just missed promotion to the top Super League.
The soft-spoken coach down-played the results saying he was trying players if they could fit in his plans.
“We are on ff-season so I am trying new players and combination to see if it could work for us,” Lungu said.
Bullets used the two friendly games to tune up for this weeks Zambezi Challenge Cup organised by Top Sport to involve also Mighty Wanderers, Silver Strikers and a Zimbabwean team CAPS United this weekend at Kamuzu Stadium.
However the fans despite being disappointed with the Cobbe result attributed the loss the new players the coach was trying.
“The coach used new players in both games but I feel that we should not have lost to Cobbe if it was not poor goalkeeping of Owen Chaima,” said the fan based in Ndirande.
He appealed to fans not to expect much from the team during team in the forthcoming Zambezi Challenge Cup.
