Great angels sell 21,000 copies of their new CD
The Great Angels Choir has sold over 21,000 copies of the group’s new album titled ‘Mwasankha ine’ within its 3rd week of release.
Director of the group, Ephraim Zonda confirmed the development with Malawi News Agency adding that the number of the CDs sold is a great achievement for the group and that it is rare for a gospel group to sell that number of CDs within that short period of time.
“Our fans have embraced the album and we owe it to them for the good number of CDs which has been sold so far,” he said.
Zonda said the album will officially be launched in Lilongwe on the new year’s day , January 1, 2015 as a fourth album from the group.
“It’s a 10 track album with good songs which will uplift the spirits of its listeners, I can assure you that people who will listen to the songs their lives will not be the same,” he explained.
Zonda revealed that they will have giant supporting artists the likes of Thoko Katimba, Mlaka Maliro and many more.
“This show will be the first of its kind because it will start at 11am and every artist will perform four songs, and as for us we will perform all the songs from the album so that the fans should enjoy to the maximum and get the best value for their money,” he explained.
He said fans should expect surprises at their album launch which he could not give a hint on what the surprise will be.
“We always believe that our fans deserve the best, so as usual on the Mwasankha ine album launch, they are going to be entertained, touched and changed,” he said.
Zonda added that the launch has been deliberately put on New Year’s Day because the group wants to celebrate with their fans for new beginnings and for the great things God has done for them.
An excited Lilongwe based fan Esnart Khondowe said she has been a fan of the group since they released their first album and the ‘Mwasankha ine’ album is one of its kind because the group has shown maturity.
“A day does not pass by without listening to the album my favorite track on the album is ‘Tadikira’ which draws me closer to God,” she said.
