Kinnah says life goes on after Stars sacking
Malawi football legend Kinnah Phiri, who was sacked as coach of South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Free State Stars on Friday, has said he was unfairly treated but now focus ahead.

Kinnah claimed he was pressing the club on their failure to fulfil some contractual obligations and also beef up the squad hence the decision to sack him.
But the club has said the decision to sack Kinnah is based on the team’s poor start to the season as they have lost all their three PSL games so far this season.
Kinnah said: “Yes there has been poor results but the they are to blame for the team’s poor showing because they sold some key players and made R4 million [about K172 million] and I asked them to invest the money by buying quality players which we clearly lacked, but they were hesitant and as a result the team could not perform.”
The Malawian mentor said Star were not happy that he was pressing them on” some contractual obligations which they were not fulfilling.”
He also accused the South African club of not treating him fairly considering what he did for them last season by taking the team from the murky waters of relegation to ninth position.<
“When I took over, the team was at the bottom of the table [16th] and we won five straight matches and lost only one to finish on ninth position, but I guess it is one of those things,” he said.
Kinnah now said he is returning home and “life must go on,”
Stars are reported to have replaced Kinnah with German Ernst Middendorp.
Such is life. When one door closes God open another one. I wish Kinna all the best. He can come back home today and help teams like Bullets, for it to continue doing well in the seocnd round of TNM as we all know that Lamadani has left a gap. We have seen what Chimodzi has done by joining Silver again.

You did your part Kinnah & you can walk with your shoulders high. They fire you & hire Mazinyo who has failed at any given club he has coached. We will see. The season is just started & honestly speaking Free State Stars has got only average players not good enough to play for the Premier League. All the best & good luck they will call you when they find themselves in quagmire.
This man could not have been coaching but owning a club in Malawi. He was a super star during his time. His aborted contract by MCP jealousy Government was a big blow.

That is how coaches lose their jobs. I thought Malawian clubs are uncivilized for doing the same but alas its allover the world including the home of xenophobia. There is no regular disciplinary hearing in football jobs. I am afraid if unfair dismissal concept was coiled for even you coaches. If you want regular discipline hearings then join us in the mwenye shops and some foreign owned companies.
South African players are failures and lazy they don’t do what coaches tell them to do thus why their league is a joke.I don’t watch Sa soccer its an embarrassment. God bless our kinnah and welcome back home sir!!
Welcome home bro kunotu simunaphe munthu.
Plz BB u must include this guy if he comes there @ home. He is agud cowch jst xenophobia in RSA. BB shud focus on winning de league, 4get za mowazi, i hop my ppo r proud of BB, though we in exile we do support BB osayiwala Man City. Zabwino zonse maule!
A had a chat with one South African at a workshop in Cape Town who lives in the same city where Kinah was based. He actually said this team mistraets Kinah because they normally need him when they are about to be relegated. When things are well they dump him. Leave them Kinnah. Go home and coach Big Bullets.
Kinna kept the team in PSL. They have ill-treated him. Thatsfootball.Betterdays are coming Kinna. football needs you
Welcome back home Kinnah! You have tried your best !

kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Kinnah is a good coach but the world does not recognise such people, just come home others will pick you while others shall remember your contribution you have so far made to them “Bravo.”
Typical of South Africans. You will recall the treatment the former Bafana Bafana couch received after winning the African cup of nations championship in 2006. SAFA opted to hire a foreign couch whom despite receiving a large amount of money compared to Clive Barker’s demanded and got a boot in the most undignified manner ever, performed dismally poor. Today the South Africa’s national team is so cursed to a point of failing to even qualify for caf inspite of all the world class resources at their disposal. Nevertheless we are proud of you Mr Phiri for your outstanding performance in the previous season and do believe that your contribution will be highly appreciated back their at home.
He is not the first to be fired. Coaches are fired if they do not perform. He did not perform and therefore got the boot.
bwerani baba. team yanu bullets ikukudikirani. welcome home.
Easy man every job is like that. Morihno too didn’t start well but is not fired! And there is no competitive football in RSA just that we malawians don’t have anywhere to go.
Take rest God will bless you with another job
