CSO’s threaten ‘civil disobedience ‘over Njauju’s murder: Demo in Mangochi to demand justice
Some sections of the civil society are planning to hold demonstrations in the eastern lakeshore district of Mangochi to demand justice for murdered Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) director of corporate affairs Issa Njauju amid growing calls for speedy investigations into his gruesome murder.

Njauju’s body was found abandoned in Lilongwe around July 5 close to Presidential Villa riddled with gun bullets while his official vehicle was set on fire and abandoned within the city.
“There is concern over the stalled process and lack of updates to inform the nation about the progress in investigations and bring the culprits to book,” Billy Mayaya, one the civil society activist planning the demonstrations told Nyasa Times on Monday.
“We feel that matter should be given priority given the gruesome nature of the crime and the high profile of the victim,” he said.
Mayaya added: “We want to exert pressure on the relevant authorities to update the nature on progress made so far.”
He warned that if progress on investigations is not forthcoming, “more acts of civil disobedience will take place throughout the country until answers are provided.”
Police said they made one arrest so far and that investigations were still in progress but had earlier indicated the murder of Njauju was related to his work at the graft-busting body.
Mayaya said the demonstration will take place in Mangochi because Njauju, 49, came from the district.
Catholic Commission for Peace and Justice (CCJP) warned that the murder of Njauju could have negative implications in the fight against graft in the country in response to Cashgate.
Envoys of the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, the European Union, Norway and Ireland called for speedy investigations and warned that intimidation and bribery should not been used to deter the bureau from pursuing those denying the country its much-needed resources through corruption.
chowona chidzadziwi one day pangachedwe pangatani Ellah help us
the idea is good but the strategy is not good. I agree with those who say its a national issue but one day it will be another person from any district.
I have these simple questions that I am still searching for answers: 1.Has NIB failed to find the culprits . 2 has CID failed as well. 3 if they have failed on this HIGH profile case, are they Relevant???
@27
Qs1&2:: no, nib & cid have not failed to find the ugly-hearted people who murdered njaunju. how can they find themselves?
Q3: they are far from bring relevant. just feasting out taxed.
Good ideas, but wrong approach, Mr. Mayaya. This is a national, not a Mangochi, matter!!
moble companies are not assisting to catch these thugs as u can c france and america r tracking these thugs using these systems
Bwana Mayaya mwayambayi si demo koma Civil Disobedience. Zoona mungapite kumudzi kwao kwa malemu Njauju ndikukauuza mudzi kuti apite ku ma demo? Anthuwa ndi ophya mtima kwambiri chifukwa cha imfa ya mwana wao choncho akapanga zipolowe osakhala ma demo. Uku ndiye kuyiyamba nkhondo. Mukufuna Anthuwa afe?
LETS ALL JOIN HANS FOR GODS SAKE TO SUPPORT THE FAMILY AND CHILDREN. KILLING A FATHER WHO WAS DOING HIS JOB AND BURN HIM LIKE A THIEF. THIS IS NOT A KILLING OF A MAN WHO WANT TO STEL A TELEFONEN. AND HOW DID THIS MAN KNOW NYAUNJI? SO STUPID OF GOVERNMENT OR WHOEVER DID. DO YOU THINK MALAWIANS WILL BELIEVED ITS THIS POOR MAN WHO KILLED HIM AND STOLEN MOBILE? THIS ANOTHER RESON MALAWI WILL NOT GET DONORS MONEY. AM GLAD. NO MONEY TO MURDER. NOT EUROPAS TAX MONEY
There is NO cases releted to political
has been solved in Malawi during DDP
Chantunya, Chasowa and Nyaunji are an example. Why cases of murder If an ordinary person are easily solved. ?
Chantunya was afraid of Duwa and Duwa helped himla to escape from Malawi. Hej is enjoying life in South Africa. If u impregnering a woman whom u cheated Will Mary by leasing your wife and kill herregud and bry het under your house is beyond sin. How difficult is can it be to solve such murder. I think If want This myrders to stop should go in The Street.
The man died what he believed is The correct to. He had children Who need a father. Only God have power to terminate a life. Chosawas cases is not solved. It was during DDP. Malawi is a davour and dangarous nation to live and work If you are justice or fighting corruption. Things have not changed despite democracy. How many young People Who have died during DDP? HOW WHO died DURING MCP? mor during DDP If one think of political. People dont know that Banda or Tempo killed Only those Who opposed him ir fear. But Muntharikas DDP kills those Who want to review their CORRUPTION. I grew during Kamuzu I never liked dictatorship. People were mor in prisen But not killed. To Day u Will be killed If u u tel about corruption of Peter. People Who want to work for good and save Malawi economy are afraid. Both UDF, DDP AND PP are running
From charges of corruption. That is Why bothJBAnd Peter wanted to win But God knowsq
Is There.
Tiyanjane; this issues must be acted by every Malawians plus all civil society activist as per public demand (and priority matter) since Police investigations team is failing to reveal the fact since the death of The late (loyal Islamic member) Brother Njaunju (may almighty Allah grant him Jannat-fil-daus). I don’t believe that this issue should only be pulled into public/enforcement by eastern people as you are saying, that’s a totally wrong coz the late Njaunju was working in Anti-Corruption bureau (for Malawians) not for Mijombas, ok?.
You can’t believe how feel they are (I mean the family members you have mentioned here) as you know that Government+Political issues are very difficult to dig out the fact when such matter have done in political manner.
Anyway, That’s why we are still following intensively the fact of the death of the late Njaunju like we were doing the same in demise of the Malawian historical fames; Gadama, Matenje, Sangala, and Solobala just mention a few but their cases ended up negatively. Hope they had their relatives but nothing pulled their tears until the judgment day (in the life of hereafter) where the truth will appear as a son dawning in the Monday morning !!!
Thank you dear sister (for reading this) >>shocked !
Once again, May the soul of the late Njaunju rest in peace (InshaAllah)
Ufuna scone mayaya! Kma apa waganiza bho
Ask me if you’ll indeed hold the demonstrations. I can see divisions among the CSO’s, dyera pa malawi.
most welcome development. Mangochi is eagerly waiting for the show down, Allah willing
Amayaya ndinu achitsilu kwambiri zikuthandizani chani zimenezo?
Kikkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mayaya wasowa mtengo wogwira.
Why is Mangochi the epicenter of the demonstrations. Is it because of the deceased religious inclination or home village? Malawi is highly polarized. Just thinking a loud!
Looking forward
PLEASE LETS PRAY VERY HARD TO GOD SO THAT THE THUGS MUST BE ARRESTED
Really Justice MUST prevail. Govnt. MUST B in front to push this.
Did Njaunju have kins(wo)men at all? where are they? Mangochi, Balaka, are you there? Busy ndi ma buns a DPP. Atupele, you have no say on this? Kuopa malndu wa a daddy kapena? Shame on you all.
Komanso akulu awa inu.you are so addicted to your silly demos.have they ever benefited anything so far?don’t just demonstrate for the case mate.you demonstrate to achieve a goal kkkkkk
Useless fools. The relevant state agency is investigating. Do they want police to report to them uncompleted investigations ? If these dunderheads know who killed Njaunju they should avail the info to police. Idiots…
you kill a man, try to disappear him then burn his car to ashes? if it was for the car, then no work done. the only conclusion is that it was for the man.
sooner or later, the truth will out.
the watchman is watching….
At first it was the July 20 victims, then Chasowa, now Njauju, whose investigations are all in limbo. When are these threats by CSOs going to yield any results? We are yet to see what you will achieve through these demonstrations. You are doing the same things but expecting a different result! It doesn’t work that way. Change your ways and may be you will get results.
Mayaya mmmmmm mwavutika zatha ndalama?

ADAFERANJI?
1. Visiting the scene
2. preliminary report
3. arrest, follow ups, medical intensions and interrogations
4. Final Investigation report – background information
5. Court hearing
6. Security measure (if required to the witness, suspect, victims)
Police men, have you done any of the above steps as per your protocol of working?
Are these threats yielding anything or its just a marketing tool for the CSOs?
General January is here Mayaya limbikirani kuti Sugar apezeke Wawa!
