Dedza fertilizer woman died of hypertension – Autopsy

Malawi Police say a 65-year-old woman who fell unconscious while standing in a queue for Affordable Inputs Programme(AIP) in Dedza district has died  of hypertension.

Dedza police deputy spokesperson Cassim Manda says an autopsy report has shown that she died of hypertension.

The woman, Shyleen Kamtameni of Kumtelera village in the area of Traditional Authority Kaphuka  on Wednesday left home to Chimbiya trading centre to buy the fertilizer at  World Wide Wholesalers.

While on queue, she collapsed and fainted.

The woman was immediately rushed  to a nearby private clinic and was further referred to Dedza District Hospital where she was declared dead.

“The autopsy report has revealed that she died of hypertension due to high blood pressure,” said Manda.

Manda said late Kamtameni had a health history of hypertension.
