Giant Sunbird Tourism enters the travel market: Launches its own travel agency
Sunbird Tourism plc, Malawi Stock Exchange listed hotel chain on Thursday launched its most anticipated Sunbird Tours and Travel, a travel agency aimed at ensuring seamless Tourists travel.
The agency has been established to consolidate the full service range offered by Sunbird Hotels and Resorts, leading to a one- stop service hospitality provider.
Among others the newly launched agency is expected to offer a variety of services that Include air ticketing, flights, tours and safaris, customized excursions, accommodation, car hire and transfers.
Speaking during the launch at Sunbird Capital Hotel in Lilongwe, Sunbird Tourism plc’s Head of Sales, Marketing and Distribution Temwa Kanjadza said the agency will compliment efforts of marketing destination Malawi through collaborations and partnerships with all otherstakeholders that include other hotel establishments, regional and international buyers, Airlines, Tour Operators for ease of travel and logistics across Malawi to the various diverse tourism destinations.
“As the country’s leading hospitality brand with the largest footprint across Malawi, the need has nowarisen to provide our customers, and travelers as well as Tourists at large with a convenient experience that simplifies their travel logistics, and allows them to discover the best of Malawi’s tourism.
“Our belief is that simply offering a comfortable bed and room amenities is no longer enough to attract and retain customers, hence our commitment to ensuring that we continue to reposition our product offer as a hotel chain as well as destination Malawi with the view of offering an enhanced guest experience” She said
Kanjadza added that Sunbird Tours and Travel is committed to offering a seamless travel experience for an organization, individual and group travelers, as well as other travel partners.
According to Kanjadza, The agency has been established with a clear understanding of the travel needs and gaps that exist within the sector, and Sunbird Tours and Travel has the distinct advantage of being run and managed by a seasoned team with a wealth of expertise in the Malawi hospitality sector.
One of the participant Chrissie Makhambera from International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH) commended Sunbird for expanding the business saying the newly unvailed entity will ease some travel huddles that their customers face, both Local and International.
“This will be one way answer because if i want to travel this will answer anything regarding my accomodation and how i am going to travel, and the most interesting part is that, Sunbird Tours and Travel will work together with other players in the tourism sector,”She said
