Makhwawa, Banda win Airtel Malawi golf at Mibawa

Lawyer John Gift Mwakhwawa and Carol Banda on Friday emerged the winners of Airtel Malawi’s Golf tournament that took place at Mibawa country club in Bvumbwe.

SMS on Airtel ‘we are at golf field’

Mwakhwawa scooped the Men’s Division with 13 long drives and 22 points while Banda posted 24 longest drive and 19 points in the Women’s division.

Speaking during the prize presentation ceremony Airtel Malawi’s Chief Commercial Officer Charles Kamoto thanked all golfers who participated in the tourney as their participation made the tournament a success.

Kamoto said the aim of the tournament was to thank it’s cooperate customers for their support to the company,

He also reaffirm Airtel’s commitments to the development of the sports in the country as one of it’s cooperate social responsibility

Kamoto said Airtel brand is so passionate about sports development in the country and will continue to reach out to different sports disciplines in the country by sponsoring national netball team and Airtel rising stars which is soccer for both boys and girls.

He also disclosed that Airtel Malawi is focusing on providing a 3G network and is striving to improve and expand on data as recently it has shown that many people are using data apart from voice calls.

Airtel Malawi also made a donation of K150, 000 to Mibawa country club to go in the maintenance of the golf course.
