Malawi parliament to reconvene November 21

Malawi’s parliament will open on November 21 for four weeks, officials say, with high expextations on the retabling of the much-awaited Access to Information (ATI) Bill.

Accoridng to a statement released by Speaker of the National Assembly Richard Msowoya,  the meeting is expected to run until December 16 when the House is expected to adjourn.

“All Cabinet ministers, deputy ministers and honourable members of Parliament [MPs] are summoned to attend the meeting at the time and place indicated until adjournment sine die and herein fail not,” reads Msowoya’s statement dated October 31.

It will be the fourth meeting in the 46th session of Parliament.

Members of Parliament (MPs) will reconvene for four weeks, the Speaker indicated.

Business Committee of Parliament is expected tomeet on November 17 to discuss the agenda when Parliament meets.
