Married women to sue Dovic Hotel over ‘bitches’ tag

Three women whose identity have been concealed by Nyasa Times are planning to drag Dovic Hotel Management to court for calling them ‘bitches’, based on a bill copy which this publication has seen.

Bitches : Bill identifies the married women

In an interview with Nyasa Times, the three women said they had gone for a swim and a drinking joint at  Dovic Hotel as a way of passing time but their jovial mood was spoiled when they were presented with the bill by one of the bartenders who was addressed as Rafick by his workmates, written ‘Bitches.’

This angered the three married women who asked for the contacts of the manager and the supervisor of them, but the staff which was available denied saying both the manager and the supervisor were both away.

Nyasa Times understands that the bill which was MK 8,200 was sorted out by a relation who was with the three women but vowed to drag Dovic Management to court for demeaning them and denying to apologize of their wrong doing.

Hospitality business etiquette says every client/customer is your royal visitor – king, queen, prince, princess – no matter what they really are in life. If you don’t like them to be at your place, you have the right to chase them away…that’s why civilized business persons put the placard ‘right of admission reserved’ so that these ultra-sensitive cash strapped ‘bitches’ should not be a sore to the service provider or their service men as is the case here.

This story is implying that if the women were not married, it would be ok to call them bitches. That says a lot.

Anthuwa ango shota, and if they behave like that, they probably are bitches

There are dozens of things you can say to customers that come across as condescending, flippant or tacky – things that will destroy the customer experience instantly. No matter how you communicate with customers, you want to avoid these words.
Nearly 70% of customers quit doing business with an organization because they felt they were treated rudely or with indifference, according to my experience, Most of the employees who treated customers that way probably never even realized it.

Can somebody school me please.
1. Is the paper in the picture an OFFICIAL Dorvic Hotel receipt?
2. Does it contain any name of the women purportedly called b*tches?
3. Did the Barman explain to the women that the word B*tches written on that paper referred to them in the actual sense of the word?

The questions you are asking are irrelevant to the fact of the matter. The document need not to be official in order to be carried against them. The written bill was presented to customers by the hotel’s agent in form of bar man. Hence that means it is a document from hotel itself since it was issued in process of business transaction with hotel. On second point the fact is that the hotel’s issued name contain an insulting or disrespectful words to women.whether the bar man was refering to somebody and not these honourable customers is irrelevant.the fact is that the issued… Read more »

Kaka, you are right and I agree. But the three ladies ought to seek legal expert advice before suing for damages. Defamatory imputations I revolves around the said “notice”. If it was issued to them, then they have a point. But if it was put them with a view to address all customers, then, surmounting a defamation case may be problematic. However, the woman has a point if the barman uttered the word “b*tches” directly to them. The question could be: who heard the word “b*tches” directed to them?

Irrelevant questions Majawa and one can tell that you do not patronise such places. Would you be comfortable if a bar tender or the swimming pool attendant presented a bill to you on a piece of paper showing a naked person or with an inscription of an obscene language? I for one would be extremely cross and would never go to that place again. This place claims to be a hotel and they need to have the decency it deserves, period. They need to be taken to task. Just shows that the bar tender is not well trained.

The paper itself looks like a toilet paper, a beautiful Dorvic Hotel issuing such piece of papers to clients. This story is not worth reading and I believe it is a fabricated story.
