Masters tips Malawi clubs on secrets to success

As the Carlsberg party continues for the Central Region based giant killers Masters Security Football Club, its outspoken General Secretary Zakariya Nyirenda has tipped Malawian clubs on ways to follow inorder to improve their game and register success just like they have showcased.

Masters Security players celebrating Cup win

Nyirenda said this following his team’s historical Carlsberg Cup final triumph over giants and self proclaimed domestic ‘Cup Kings’ Mighty Be Forward Wanderers over the weekend.

Said Nyirenda: “If we  [Clubs] want to develop our game, let us sacrifice and give our players good perks. They need to be motivated to perform. This is the only way and nothing else”.

Nyirenda said gone are the days clubs rely only on names only to register success.

“Football is no longer about names, players need to be treated well they should be happy with what they are doing and in so doing they will always have a heart to perform andodeliver good results” he said.

Nyirenda who challenged he will resign from his post if Masters fail to grab Carlsberg Cup added that people thought he was talking nonsense when he confidently announced tovthe public that his team will grab the Carlsberg Cup days before the cup final.

“They thought I was talking nonsense but we had done our home work well. As executive, together with the players and technical panel we had a heart to win. Here we are, we are the Masters…. the trusted security providers in Malawi” said Nyirenda.

As part of motivating the players, the team travelled from Lilongwe to Blantyre by plane.

The players reportedly had their bonuses doubled and were again promised good rewards if they succeed in grabing the cup.

Meanwhile, Nyirenda has warned all Malawian clubs that they should expect fireworks whenever playing against his club.

“They should get prepared for a total war. I have a team desperate to win and destined for success” he said.

Masters next fixture is a repeat of the Carlsberg Cup final as they make a date against Mighty Be Forward again but this time in the preliminary round of the FISD challenge Cup.

The match wi be played tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Kamuzu stadium in the City of Blantyre.
