Representing all the mayors Deputy Mayor for Lilongwe City Esther Sagawa said the mayors are very impressed with what FDH is doing for them and for the children to engage them in extra curricular activities.

“This is helping us to help the children harness their talent and bring them out and to keep them focused when they are out of school, where they can play games and have something that will keep them busy instead of engaging in something bad,” she said.

She said if there is more investment in children like these, there is so much that the country will reap from.

“As we have seen there is so much talent in them and we believe that it is from these same teams that we may find talented players to play in the national team, we might as well yield players to play in international teams and this serves as foundation,” Sagawa said.

She therefore said they mayors are very grateful to FDH because if this continues and it goes to the districts it will have more talent unearthed.

He said that people should be assured that they will continue with the process having stated the journey in 2019 which failed because of COVID -19 this time that they have started we will make sure that going forward we still sponsor the tournament .
