Mikoko beat Catholic University in Sozobal playoff

Within a couple of weeks after announcing the partnership agreement with Renault Malawi, Mikoko Mystics qualified for the Sozobal play offs after beating Catholic University 68 -14.

Mystics needed a victory plus a more than 20 baskets margin against the students to cement their playoffs spot. Currently the team is on position 2 and depending on results from other teams it can only move to position 3.

Renault Malawi, Brand Manager, Nadia Chikwana says she was impressed with the team’s performance.

“Renault Malawi is proud and excited to be associated with the Mikoko Mystics, the reigning Southern Zone Basketball League Champions and the company will continue to encourage and contribute towards the teams success”.

Jennifer Lupiya, point guard for the team lead the team to it’s triumph with her swift steals, assists and 28 points.

Captain of the team, Miranda Dula says she is confident her team will pull through and will to defend and return the Championship.

Mikoko Mystics are the defending champions of the Sozobal ladies League for two consecutive seasons.
