General Secretary for the association, Masiya Nyasulu, confirmed on Friday that the event will take place on 3rd March. Besides the champions, Karonga United, the other three teams that will take part are Rumphi Pirates, Rumphi Medicals and Bolero Football Club.

The aim of the bonanza is to allow Karonga United rope into their squad, good performing players from these sides who can help them in their assignments in the 2018 TNM Super League season.

“We are confident that this activity will take place on this date because the people that pledged money for this event are well respectable people in society. We will sit down as executive to decide the venue when we finish collecting the funds,” explained Nyasulu.

Among the people who pledged money for the event is FAM Vice President Othaniel Hara who pledged K500 000.

SULOM representative Henz Banda pledged K100, 000.00, just like Karonga United Chairperson, Alufeyo Chipanga.

Mwayi Mwanza of the National Youth Football Association pledged K200, 000.00.

Nyasulu says the funds will be brought together by the end of next week.
