Santa ‘Klaus’ Chilima brings Christmas cheer at Queen’s hospital in Blantyre, distributes gifts

Vice President  Saulos Klaus Chilima continued with the tradition as he turned Father Christmas to cheer patients at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) in Blantyre and presented assorted gifts.

Chilima was accompanied by his wife Mary, who also wore matching seasonal red attire.

The vice-president   cheered up children in two paediatric wards  (special care and oncology) before visiting mothers at Gogo Chatinkha maternity wing.

Chilima sporting a festive Santa  attire  with a  hat replete with a spread-out  white artificial beard  and carrying a sack of gifts,cheered the children when he gave out gifts to patients in the children and maternity wards.

In his remarks after the visit, Chilima said the festive  season families are supposed to spend time together “but our fellow citizens are not feeling well and are in hospital. So the ideal situation is to reach out to them, cheer them up and share the little that we have.”

  1. Aaah, Santa Clause went to give presents, with His wife? Unheard of. All Santa’s go alone, even though they are married their wives don’t accompany them as what has happened here. Understand the role of Santa’s please.

  2. Somebody visited a district hospital somewhere as if he is a district govenor or an MP. Viva Chilima. Ukuitha

    1. You can cheer the sick anywhere even at a primary health facility. So what Chilima and Chakwera have are equally good. Just do what you can as well instead of belittling what others have done.
