The former Barcelona FC player and AS Roma captain returns after an injury he sustained in the first leg against Ethiopia sidelined him from the three qualifiers.

Other notable professionals include Bekaye Traore, Bakary Sako, Sigamary Diarra, Mamoutou N’Diaye and Ahmed Tongo Doumbia, among others.

Malawi, perched on third position in Group B, lost the first leg 2-0. Leaders Algeria, who already qualified for the finals in Morocco in January, host Ethiopia.

The Flames will complete the qualifying campaign against Ethiopia on November 19.

Meanwhile, Flames recalled veterans Fischer Kondowe and Esau Kanyenda have said they are ready to prove that they still have the steam and that their legs are not long gone.

Kanyenda last played for the Flames in September last year against Kenya’s Harambe Stars in 2014 World Cup qualifier.

Coach Young Chimodzi dropped striker Chiukepo Msowoya and recalled forwards Zico Mkanda and Peter Wadabwa.
