Lilongwe business woman wins K11 million in Premier Bet online betting

Barely a day after producing a K52 million winner from Nsanje, Premier Bet Malawi on Wednesday presented K11 million to a 36-year-old Lilongwe online football betting winner, Mphatso Kacherenga — who won after placing a stake of just K1,000.

Chaola, who scored 16 points in the just released Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), placed K500 stake in 20 games he selected and predicted for straight wins in all the matches.

Kacherenga, a resident of Area 23, who runs Kaunjika business, did not hide her excitement for winning the money which she said she will invest to boost her business.

She said, despite being a football fan since her childhood, she rarely participate in betting and that this was her first time to win.

“For a long time, I’ve been seeing people winning millions of money through betting and I just thought of trying my luck and later realized that all the games I predicted have won.

“Honestly, I did not believe it at first because I had no any expectation that I can become a winner,” she said.

Lilongwe Premier Bet area manager, Daniel Fatch said he was very delighted to note that more women are now winning huge amounts of money through betting.

“Mostly, it was men who bet with us most and have won millions but it feels good to see female doing the same,” he said. “Of course, this is not our first female customer because we also had other women in previous weeks who also won millions.

“We are not trying to encourage women to be addicted in gambling, and let me take this opportunity to urge them and all our customers to make sure they are only betting when relaxing and not every time,” Fatch said.

When presenting Chaola with his winnings, Premier Bet’s commercial manager, Nawar Jarakji said they were happy to start the new year with such a big winner.

He said Chaola’s win should send a strong message to the people that winning doesn’t require someone to put much money because even with a little amount they still stand a chance of winning big amounts.

“We want to encourage people to start believing in themselves that they can make millions by betting through our agents and online platforms with just small stake and they should take Chaola as a good example,” Jarakji said.
