Rach Trust K5mil funds Netball Association of Malawi polls next month

Netball Association of Malawi (NAM)  has disclosed that it will go ahead to hold the elections next months have secured finances.

The local netball governing body  president Rosy Chinunda  is likely to seek another term boosted by securing a record smashing K600 million sponsorship from United Kingdom-based Rach Family Trust for Malawi Queens.

“The elections will be conducted this April,” Chinunda said.

She said affiliates can start making nominations for their positions.

Section 24.2 (a) of NAM’s constitution, which talks about elections of executive committee members, stipulates that nominations need to be done 45 days before an elective assembly.

The section states: “The general secretary shall call for nominations 45 days before the date of the annual general meeting [AGM] in which elections for the executive committee are due.”

Rach Family Trust  gave NAM K5 million which is helping the body to go to polls.
