Ufulu Loga provokes Kauma residents as they demolish grave yard brick fence
South Africa-based businessman Ufulu Loga is said to have angered the Kauma community where his workers are said to have continued with brick fence construction defying government position on the matter.
Kauma residence on Thursday took the law into their hands by destroying the brick fence which was built within the graveyard.
“We are doing this because we have been provoked so we will share all his land so that he should stop praying with the lives of people,” said one resident who identified himself as Mtenje.
A visit to the area on Thursday morning found a group of people waiting for their share from the ring leaders.
The land in question belongs to Ufulu Loga a well known businessman.
In an interview, Lameck Banda one of the beneficiary said he was happy that now he owns land.
Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development Symon Vuwa Kaunda issued a seven day ultimatum to a developer , who encroached a graveyard at Kauma , to demolish his fence.
Vuwa Kunda issued the ultimatum in response to complaints from Kauma residents, through Lilongwe Central Constituency legislator Alfred Jiya that the area is facing a huge challenge of people encroaching public land.
This is hypocrisy at it’s best and the relevant minister should take note First it was the villagers through their village headman who went to see the minister that land especially the graveyard had been encroached the minister promptly pays a visit and orders the btickwall demolished within seven days. The next thing is people are in a free for all mood sharing the same land they complained about Was the complaint ginuine or a sham to use in the illegally appropriation of public land. The complaint was made in bad faith and where were the local heads when all… Read more »
As much as some may think destruction is due to cultural issues, I beg to differ: The issue is is about land, foreigners cannot just come by and begin to develop land that is not theirs. Cultural issues aside, this is their land and they can use it for whatever and in anyway they want. Good to Kaume people and I hope who ever sold this land has learnt a lesson. Bravo!!!!
kkk it seems you my friend did not read. Ufumu Loga is a Malawian. secondly why should people from Kauma split the land. ( no difference). if procedures were flouted, they were flouted basi.
I DON’T C ANYTHING CONNECTED TO RITUALS HERE! HOW CAN A SANE PERSON BUILD A WALL FENCE AROUND A PUBLIC GRAVEYARD?
SHAME ON YOU!
Dont understand this at all. Ufulu Loga is instructed to demolish and others are sharing the same land. This will mean we will still have a developer on the same land. Clarify Nyasa as the reasons in the first place for instruction to Ufulu.

The animals reclaiming their graveyards, where they keep and wear their masks. Whilst the rest of the first world is into computer wizardry. How can a country develop with such. No this does not just refer to a specific tribe but pretty much all tribes in the country who practice primitive rituals without benefit. some of our traditional beliefs must be preserved as they benefit us however applying mud and wearing feathers is just pathetic .
The most stupid comment ever made this year.
Mumene mwakuliramu mungakambe zopanda nzeru ngati izi?
Top, you are such a stupid Malawian citizen. If you don’t have something to comment you better keep quite. I respect all tribes although I don’t agree to some cultural beliefs.
