TNM takes match-play qualifiers  to Blantyre Sports Club

Integrated mobile network and ICT service provider TNM will on Saturday July 8th host a golf qualifying tournament at Blantyre Sports Club. The qualifier will lead to a match-play men’s and women’s final in September.

A Dan Talk- Dan Makata discuses with his name-sake Dan Mvula on the green.

Chief Officer (Consumer Services) Dan Makata said TNM is proud to sponsor Saturday’s qualifier.

The qualifier comes barely two weeks after the company hosted another golf tournament at Zomba Golf club under TNM’s Digital Transformation campaign.

“TNM’s digital transformation drive has gathered momentum. With our pioneering of the 4G/LTE network platform, we are now on course to complete various technology upgrades that are complementary to our 4G/LTE mobile internet platform,” he said.

Makata said the current golf tournaments provide TNM an ideal platform to engage customers on the progress of its digital transformation journey.

“We are proud to be associated with golf tournaments as they are a passion point for both corporate and individual customers. Tournaments such as the Saturday one provide us with a platform to engage the golfers as our customers,” he said.

A total of 80 golfer comprising 64 men and 16 women will participate in the match-play.

Unlike stroke play, in which the unit of scoring is the total number of strokes taken over one or more rounds of golf, match play scoring consists of individual holes won, halved or lost.
