Pope representative tells Malawians to seek divine intervention on instability
A representative of Pope Francis in Zambia and Malawi has asked Malawians to seek divine intervention to bring peace threatened by the current political instability.
Archbishop Gianfranco Gallone said this on Saturday in Lilongwe.
“Malawians need to be firm in prayer. Let the prayer work amidst this political instability,” he said.
He said the church would want peace to return to Malawi.
The head of the Catholic Church in Malawi Thomas Msusa condemned violent protests which have led to loss of lives and property.
He said Malawians can protest peacefully.
Msusa said the church has organised countrywide peace prayers in all its churches on October 19.

Let peace start with Baba Lazaro who preached bloodshed on 21 May with only 25 % vote count . Today we see people being chased away from central region as if MALAWI belongs to the chewas of nsundwe gule dancers . The place will round you up and heap you in cell. Already 4 nsundwe boys charged with murder and we know the verdict – life imprisonments to these guys who are only in their thirties . Future doomed because of chakwera.
People who are near God know the right words to talk to people for peace whenever they are faced with any problem on this earth: such as, hunger, illness, poverty, civil wars, rainfall etc. Because this universal was not made by the human being, a human being is just a visitor. no matter how long he/she may stay here is bound to die. But God the owner shall always remain. So whoever is looking for whatever in his life should always ask the owner God to give him. There is no human being on earth who can satisfy what God… Read more »
God uses people to bring change He wants. He used Samson to liberate Israelites from Philistines, and so was the case with the other judges mentioned in the Bible.
Used Moses and Aaron to save the Israelites from the hands or pharaoh. Nothing is impossible with God .cry for the beloved country Malawi we need Gods intervention 😤💔💝
While this good but you have your own bishops who are partisan and fueling division. We have Mulomole, Ntumbuka and their kind who have never seen anything positive in the current government. These people should be told that God elevates people for his specific purpose and denies people to rise because he sees the heart. While the catholic supported Chilima but God saw the heart of Chilima that it was not fit for leadership. Chakwera having fallen from the face of God, God also saw his heart that he had to abandon the work of God because of selfish reasons. Jonah… Read more »
Advise your boy Martin Mtumbuka to refrain from politics and concentrate on church work
May the Lord give our hearts yearning for peace
Welcome to Malawi Ambassador Gallone. I hope you will have time to visit Msundwe, the epicentre of our liberation struggle against a tribe which only came to Malawi in 1914 but thinks it deserves all the leadership positions of this country. This struggle has just started and things will get worse if someone continues to take us for granted.
That’s your best comment Shame the tribalist!
If you had learnt displacement series, you would have not complained about who came first in Malawi for tonse ndi obwera. Mtundu ukamadedwa kwambiri, its a sign kuti Namalenga ali kumbali ya mtunduwo. Therefore which tribe is most hated in Malawi?
(a) Asena
(b) Alomwe
(c) Atumbuka
(d) Ayawo
(e) Achewa
(f) Atonga
(g) Agoni

As long as there is tribalism there will never be one Malawi. *A country divided against itself cannot stand’ Tribalism is the enemy of progress. Until each and every one of usi sees himself/herself as first and foremost a citizen of Malawi, there will never be real progress .Please, let us forget what tribe we belong to and work towards moving our country forward.
