Huawei hails Malawi’s TNM for growth in technology

Huawei has hailed TNM for the newly launched packages that enable customers to enjoy of its 4G/LTE network back bone, which provides faster and dependable mobile internet.

Few months ago TNM launched four packages namely 4G/LTE, Video Conferencing, TNM Hotspot, a WIFI service as well Customer Contact Centre and all these are supported by Huawei state of art technology.

Huawei deputy Country Director Titus Tasosa said it was pleasing to see a local mobile company offering advanced ICT packages.

“It is something that makes us proud to be part of the achievement because then that means that Malawi is not lagging behind because of the technological development because these things are already common in other countries and its quite pleasing to see a home grown operator being able to offer such kind of services,” said Tasosa.

Tasosa said Mobile and ICT provider need to position themselves to be able to capture the next wave of the technological developments that are there.

“Essentially we a showing the kind of network technology that they need to meet the growing demand in terms of data, in terms of user behaviour, people are moving to video more than just voice.

“TNM is our strategic partner and what we normally do is we align with their needs on how they want to sell their customers. We align that we also our vision of where the technology is going so delivering that kind of technology that can enable them to meet the needs of their customers, ”he said.

TNM’s Head of Innovations Frank Magombo descried the partnership with Huawei as strategic as demonstrated through Huawei’s commitment in ensuring that TNM has got best technology.

“Huawei is a very strategic partner for TNM and this is demonstrated through the different technologies we are currently using on our network from Huawei because at the moment some of these technologies that we have on our network we are probably the only operator or second largest operator in Africa that has good such technologies like the IMS, ”said Magombo.

Magombo said the new technology is enabling TNM to offer services to its enterprise customers for them to improve their businesses in terms of service delivery, efficiency and profitability in organisation.

“We believe that through these platforms we will be able to offer better services and one of those services includes video conferencing and the other one is Customer Contact Centre and LTE. The LTE we have just launched through the MIS and we will be able to offer better services to customers,” he said.
